What are the things you wish you’d known before you became a leader?

I had the pleasure of speaking with Michaud Garneau about this topic on his The Weird Is Nrml Podcast.

In the quick, 10-minute chat, I reflected on how leadership is an evolution and how we need to give ourselves the grace to learn and grow.

In my own leadership journey, I’ve become more comfortable being vulnerable, admitting to mistakes, recognizing gaps in my own knowledge and not being afraid to lean into my team when I need help. The result, I hope, is that we build trust and a stronger connection with one another.

I also reflected on the first leadership book I ever read, Good To Great. I did completely forget the title and only mentioned the subtitle on the podcast, which is truly an epic fail that is now captured for all to hear.
