Meet Ecks

Ecks is a non-binary activist.

They are the administrator for the QUT Queer Collective and the Marketing and Communications Director for Pride of QUT – an organization based on the cohesion on campus for queer students and allies. Ecks has spoken at various public events, one example being at the University of The Sunshine Coast’s event for the International Day Against Homophobia and Transphobia.

Ecks has many artistic hobbies. They’ve been acting for as long as they could walk. Ecks has utilized their talents for the social justice theatre company Magnetic North. Last year, Ecks helped create content for, and acted in, “Letters I Never Sent.” This was an LGBTQ 101 show to teach the community about queer youth and young adults authentically – through content produced and performed by a queer cast and crew.

In all, Ecks wants all of their peers to feel safe and valued. They want everyone to know we are all capable of success and greatness, no matter who we are or who we love. We deserve the world and we add to its vibrancy and magic simply by unapologetically existing.
